This act provides that persons in a wildland firefighting occupation employed by the State Forestry Division of the Office of State Lands and Investments will receive hazard pay and paid time off in accordance with federal standards. The Office of State Lands and Investments is required to monitor federal standards for hazard pay and paid time off when determining compensation, but those standards will not be considered binding. An appropriation is provided to provide hazard pay for wildland firefighters.
