SB 1459 — SB 1459 - This act establishes the "Anti-Red Flag Gun Seizure Act" which provides that any federal order of protection or other federal judicial or executive order which directs the seizure of a firearm or prohibits the possession of a firearm, except as provided for in the act, shall not be enforced in this state. Additionally, no public agency, political subdivision, or law enforcement agency shall receive any federal funding for the purpose of enforcing any federal acts or judicial orders confiscating any firearms, firearm accessories, or ammunition. Any political subdivision or law enforcement officer who violates this act shall be subject to a $50,000 penalty per occurrence. Sovereign immunity shall not be an affirmative defense. SB 1438 — SB 1438 - This act modifies the required amount of motor vehicle liability insurance. The required amount of coverage for bodily injury or death is increased from $25,000 to $50,000 for one person, and from $50,000 to $100,000 for bodily injury or death to two or more persons in any one accident, and from $25,000 to $50,000 for injury to or destruction of property of others in any one accident. Currently, any underinsured motor vehicle coverage with less than two times the limits for bodily injury or death under current law shall be construed to provide coverage in excess of the liability coverage of any underinsured motor vehicle involved in the accident.
