-OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE ON THE TRADES INDUSTRY.
-Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
-Assembly convened:

-Section 1. ( Effective from passage) (a) There is established a task force 1
-to study the effects of the use of artificial intelligence on the trades 2
-industry. Such study shall include, but need not be limited to, an 3
-examination of (1) job displacement of employees in the trades industry 4
-as a result of artificial intelligence being used in the trades industry, and 5
-(2) current coursework and curriculum of the Technical and Education 6
-Career System regarding the use of artificial intelligence. 7
-(b) The task force shall consist of the following members: 8
-(1) Two appointed by the speaker of the House of Representatives; 9
-(2) Two appointed by the president pro tempore of the Senate; 10
-(3) One appointed by the majority leader of the House of 11

-(7) The Labor Commissioner, or the commissioner's designee; 17
-(8) The executive director of the Technical Education and Career 18
-System; 19
-(9) The Chief Workforce Officer, or the officer's designee; and 20
-(10) The Commissioner of Economic and Community Development, 21
-or the commissioner's designee. 22
-(c) Any member of the task force appointed under subdivision (1), 23
-(2), (3), (4), (5) or (6) of subsection (b) of this section may be a member 24
-of the General Assembly. 25
-(d) All initial appointments to the task force shall be made not later 26
-than thirty days after the effective date of this section. Any vacancy shall 27
-be filled by the appointing authority. 28
-(e) The speaker of the House of Representatives and the president pro 29
-tempore of the Senate shall select the chairpersons of the task force from 30
-among the members of the task force. Such chairpersons shall schedule 31
-the first meeting of the task force, which shall be held not later than sixty 32
-days after the effective date of this section. 33
-(f) The administrative staff of the joint standing committee of the 34
-General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to labor and 35
-public employees shall serve as administrative staff of the task force. 36
-(g) Not later than January 1, 2027, the task force shall submit a report 37
