+STATE OF ALASKA BILL NO.
+This legislation will require the Alaska Board of Barbers and Hairdressers to authorize the Division of Corporations,
+Business and Professional Licensing to issue licenses and permits to practice and for schools of barbering, hairdressing,
+manicuring, and esthetics. The board will still be the only entity with the authority to deny such licenses. This bill clarifies
+the authority for the board and the division to maintain the status quo for issuances of licenses for this program.
+The Division of Corporations, Business and Professional Licensing does not anticipate fiscal impact from this legislation.
+Professional licensing programs within the Division of Corporations, Business and Professional Licensing are funded by
+Receipt Supported Services, fund source 1156 Rcpt Svcs (DGF). Per AS 08.01.065, licensing fees for each occupation are set
+so the total amount of revenue collected approximately equals the occupation’s actual regulatory costs.
